Erika and Jesse | Kapiolani Photo Session
Erika, a high school classmate of mine from California, was recently visiting the islands with her husband. While she was here on Oahu I met up with the two of them at Kapiolani Park and had a fun photo session. Here are a few of my favorite images.
Dominique and Lucio | 04.24.10 | Teaser
I want to give a big shout out to Dominique and Lucio (plus their family) for being so awesome. I met up with Dominique, her sisters and other family members as they were getting ready at the Tiki Moon Villas out in Laie. The family was definitely enjoying themselves and everywhere you looked there was something begging to be filmed…pretty cool! Check out the teaser and screen grabs from their special day.

Happy Earth Day
These days you hear lots of talk of “Going Green” and its actually a lot easier than most people think. Lots of people have a misconception that ‘going green’ is more expensive and just an overall inconvenience. Finding solutions for the sustainability of the planet is in everyone’s interest and making just a few small changes in your daily life can make a big difference. And if you’re a business more and more people are seeking out businesses that are environmentally conscious. Even this year’s Nobel Prize for Peace was granted, not to someone negotiating a treaty between warring nations, but to people working to make peace between industry and the environment.
3 Things you can EASILY do:
1) Reusable Bags – They’re cheap, costing only a dollar or two, they hold more than a typical plastic bag, and they’re extremely sturdy. Not to mention using reusable bags preserves resources.
2) Support Local Farmers - Two words “Food Miles.” Living in Hawaii we have access to some of the best fresh fruits and vegetables all grown locally, yet many people buy imported fruits and veggies from the grocery store. Many of the fruits and veggies travel many miles to get here using lots and lots of fuel in the process. So look for the “locally grown” sticker on fruits and veggies or find out where there is a farmers market nearby. Not to mention supporting local farmers is cool! That way they won’t be forced to sell off their land for development, like we need more huge self-storage and high-rise buildings.
3) Reusable Bottles - Barely 20% of plastic bottles end up getting recycled. Get your self a reusable bottle and fill it up with filtered tap water. This is a very simple way eliminate some use of plastic, plus to worry about the potentially toxic chemicals that can leech out of many plastics over time. If you have to buy a bottle of water from the store look for the eco-friendly bottles lots of the major company’s are now using. Not to mention you can get a nice stainless steel bottle in just about any style so not only can you live green but you can also flaunt your personally style while doing so.
These are just 3 simple steps you can take to start living a more environmentally friendly life. For more tips on saving money and simplifying your life head over to Going Green.

Karen and Christopher | 04.04.10 | Teaser
Karen and Chris had a beautiful Hawaii wedding this Easter Sunday here on Oahu. In all the years that Chris has known and dated Karen she’s never allowed him to watch her play the violin. She’s always told him, “I’ll play for you at our wedding.” Keeping good to her promise Karen pulled out the violin during their ceremony and serenaded her new husband. We’re always blessed with the sweetest couples! We wish all the best to Karen and Chris!
Check out their teaser video and a few screen grabs from their wedding film.
Takako and Masashi | Slow-Mo Teaser
We pieced together a teaser of Takako and Masashi’s wedding. We switched up the pace a little bit by shooting at 60fps on the Canon 7d and converting it to 24p for the nice slow-mo effect. The slow motion matched perfectly with the song the couple chose, ‘A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes’ from Cinderella.
